Malia Au - Clarinet/Saxophone
Malia Au began playing clarinet when she was
eight years old with the after school band program in Fremont, CA.
During high school, she picked up the saxophone and various percussion
instruments. She has extensive experience in marching band, symphonic
band, jazz band, and knowledgeable with the local winter percussion
competitions and musicals.
Currently, she is perusing her
Bachelors of Fine Arts in Classical Clarinet Performance at Cal State
University, East Bay. In addition, she is studying piano and
thoroughly enjoys music theory. She has studied privately with another
clarinet instructor at Allegro Music, Joel Jaffe, and currently with
Diane Maltester.
She is excited to work with students of all
ages and excited to pass along her knowledge and passion for music.
