Beverly Johnson - Flute/Piccolo
With a BA and MA
in Flute Performance and a Teaching Credential in Music from
California State University, East Bay, Bev has been teaching private
lessons for over thirty years and in the Alameda and Hayward school
districts for over twenty-seven years. She currently teaches Applied
Flute and Community Band classes at Chabot College and has conducted
the Easy Bay Symphonic Band since 1993. She is classically trained
focuses on proper flute technique and music theory.
Bev offers
opportunities for her students to gain performing experience as she
hosts a recital once a year. Additionally, she encourages students to
participate in the CMEA Solo Festival and the La Honda Music Camp for
which she has been the Assistant Director and an instructor for more
than twenty-five years. As member of the Air Force Band, the National
Flute Association, the California Music Educators Association,
professional symphonies and freelance performer for over thirty years,
Bev has the experience to lead her students to excellence.
